Planning, Consulting, and Advisory

As communities plan, adapt, and evolve while addressing aging infrastructure and vulnerabilities like climate change and natural disasters, our coordinated team of planners, analysts, GIS professionals, and technology specialists create tailored solutions to their specific challenges. Working together with our professional engineers and architects, this team enables clients to move forward and advance their projects.

Our Expertise

Asset Management

Our experts from across the country understand the importance of tracking asset information to maximize service life and lower long-term risks and costs. We integrate enterprise geospatial and technology solutions with our engineering management services to envision solutions that are responsive and flexible. We create right-size approaches that our clients can commit to and achieve.

Campus and Facility Master Planning

Our master plan process is collaborative, combining stakeholder expertise and desired outcomes with our team’s facilities and planning expertise to create a visual roadmap. We partner to assist stakeholders through a proven process of listening and analyzing that leads to a unique plan based on our client’s vision. Our master planners integrate long-range client goals with real-world possibilities to develop dynamic tools that capture the vision leading to long-term plans.

Capital Facility Needs Assessment and Facility Assessments

We collaborate with our clients to create better strategies for mapping operations onto space. We help clients estimate space needs and evaluate existing resources against service goals to craft a strategic space utilization plan that encompasses current and future, status quo, and modified operational scenarios. Services include facility assessments, operational efficiency studies, risk assessments, and incremental implementation plans.

Land Planning and Development

We collaborate with developers, property owners, realtors, attorneys, and the local community to conceptualize land use, and to plan for thoughtful, sustainable landscapes, developments, and urban environments. We listen to and work closely with clients and stakeholders and encourage community involvement, drawing on local knowledge, ideas, and aspirations; and solicit community input, as appropriate, to best understand the real and perceived market opportunities and constraints. Our experts combine their local knowledge with a strong understanding of entitlement issues, review processes, and local ordinances, as well as permitting and environmental review expertise to achieve innovative results and savings. We design for a wide variety of project types, including adaptive reuse, sports and recreation, environmentally sensitive, and transit-oriented projects. Our services include vision creation and implementation, master planning and rezoning, planning development, entitlement programming, architectural coordination, and site layouts.

Risk and Resilience

Our innovative tools aid in the accurate assessment of risk, including better ways to identify populations, facilities, and infrastructure most at risk, as well as the estimation of potential economic losses. Our suite of multi-disciplinary services maximize our clients’ resilience while mitigating risks. We create emergency management and risk mitigation plans, offer training courses that teach better ways to manage event response, and facilitate exercises in a no-fault learning environment to prepare our clients for a real-time emergency.

Industrial Wastewater

Our comprehensive approach to water planning and wastewater treatment focuses on finding solutions to support our clients’ life-cycle goals. We support industrial clients with every aspect of a project, from development to concept evaluations to detailed design and construction. We have conducted bench and pilot-scale tests in our in-house treatability lab and at client facilities, including biological treatment and physical/chemical treatment. Our engineers have saved clients millions of dollars with innovative solutions and technical expertise.

Program Management/Owner Support Services

Today, many of our clients need more than traditional engineering and architecture services. They require regulatory analysis, community outreach, grant application assistance, and budget development. We help our clients move projects forward, and in some cases, augment their in-house capabilities during the implementation with independent inspection and construction support services.
