Management Support Final Housing Inspection Program

Inspection Services to Support Communities Following Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene, and Tropical Storm Lee
New York, New York

We were selected by the New York Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HFTC) to support the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) with disaster recovery advisory and project management services. Our work helped assist GOSR in managing funds in response to storm damage in upstate New York and on Long Island following Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene, and Tropical Storm Lee.

We performed final inspection services, which confirmed that work outlined in the original damage estimate has been completed, and that the homes were decent, safe, and sanitary.

Our scope of work also included a contract to support GOSR with change orders for construction and other U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved items, including elevation requirements, bulkheads, inspection scope changes, and coordination with local engineers and architects on HUD maximum design criteria for single and rental homes for the state of Ney York.

Additionally, we contracted with GOSR Staffing, which included senior construction technical subject matter expert consulting, inspection services for final home repairs and elevations, appeals and demonstrable hardship review, clarification services, fraud case review services, and alternative pathway decisions for closing completed projects.
