When the City of New Haven, Connecticut, engaged us to develop a program for managing their bridge infrastructure resources, we innovatively applied GIS technology to the task. Once all bridges either owned or maintained by the city were inventoried, we delivered the report and recommendations in a GIS digital map format that enables click-through to digital photography and key data. We also collected, evaluated, and presented statistical data to illustrate how the city's bridge infrastructure matches up to peer cities in the state.
